Its really okay...

There was once a gardener who works in a big mansion. His duty was to fetch water daily from the river to be used for the mansion keeps. The river was situated below a hill slope behind the mansion. The gardener uses 2 vases tied to a pole and carries it over his shoulder for this duty. But the thing is, one of the vase got a slight crack and whenever the gardener reached the mansion, the vase with the slight crack will naturally contained less water upon reaching the mansion.
This continues for months. Until the cracked vase voices out to the gardener: " I am sorry that I cant give you the full amount of water that you wanted Mr Gardener. Its just that this crack is making it difficult for me.." saying with a sigh.. But the gardener replied: "Its really okay.. do you know that because of the sight cracked, the plant along your side of your hill slope all blossom with flowers because of the water that dripped out of it. And I plucked them up to decorate the mansion. this made my master very happy, thanks to you.."
Morale of the story is... it ok if you have a "slight crack" in yourself. You never knows what benefit it can brings to others around you.

To all my muslim acquaintance...

Here's wishing you...

Just a cup of coffee...

There was once a gathering of an Alumni organised by a retired Professor at his home. Upon the meeting of all the attendees the professor saw and heard how these young ex-students of his were complaining about how tough life and career was. Even though there were lines of luxury cars out in the parking lot obviously belonging to all of them, he heard them saying that their pay was too low and how things are expensive these days, and so on and on.... He then ask all of them.."Do you all want a cup of coffee?". And not surprisingly all of them acknowledge the need for some nicotine juice. The professor went to his kitchen and come out later with the pot of coffee and different kinds of cups for them to use. Some are cheap plastic cups, glass mug and an expensive porcelain cups. He then told them. "Okay, help yourself to the coffee.." When all of them are finished taking the cup coffee, he grab their attention by saying: " I heard all of you complaining about how difficult life was. How you just cant get enough from what you have." .. he continues " And I also observed that when I placed the different cups for you to pour your coffee into, most of you chose the expensive porcelain cups for yourself. When all you wanted was just coffee. Just imagine that life was the coffee that you want to enjoy, it does not need to be poured in an expensive porcelain cup for you to enjoy it. You just need to know what you want from life, thats all"

Coincidence...

Today mark the first day of Ramadan. The fasting month for all muslim. And afters years of producing calendars for clients, this is the first time I came across the dates of Ramadan falls on the exact dates of the Gregorian calendar. Thats is, 1st of Ramadan 1429 is also the 1st of September 2008. Such coincidence, but does it means anything? I doubt so.. But for sure, this coincidence will come back years later.
And to make it more convenient for reference, shown here are the prayers times for S'pore Muslims reference. This was actually taken from Hjh Maimunah restaurant promo material that I printed a couple of days back.
